Electric Power Monthly

27 July 2010– Each month, we take a look at how much electricity is generated in the electric utilities and independent power producer (IPP) sectors, as well as by what source. The information is from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The graphs below show the net generation of electricity from utilities, IPPs, and how much coal and natural gas each sector consumed in the month of April in 2008-2010.


*Other renewables includes wood, other wood waste, other biomass, geothermal, solar thermal and photovoltaic energy
