REpower completes its largest Polish wind turbine order

26 March 2010 – REpower Systems AG of Germany has concluded a contract with WSB Group to deliver 15 wind turbines for the Lipniki wind farm, located near Opole in Poland.
The REpower MM92 turbines each have a rated power of 2.05 MW and are due to be constructed and commissioned at the Lipniki wind farm later this year.
With a total output of 30.75 MW, the Lipniki wind farm is currently the biggest project that the Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer has undertaken in Poland.
REpower entered the Polish market in 2009, with the Leki Dukielskie and Bukowsko near Rzeszow wind facilities.
Poland is currently one of the fastest-growing markets for wind energy which, as the REpower’s CEO Per Hornung Pedersen says, makes this contract extremely important for the company.
“We can see a lot of potential on the Polish market for wind power. The country is home to many more prime wind locations. We are also delighted to be working alongside WSB in Poland following the successful completion of a joint project in Germany.”
