Areva T&D can now offer innovative network stability studies

26 June 2009 – Areva’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) division has signed an exclusive partnership contract with A. Eberle GmbH & Co. KG of Germany that enables it to provide studies and services using the A. Eberle Collapse-Prediction-System (CPSys).

The CPSys is a patented tool that offers a unique way of providing off-line network stability analyzes by recording all small signals emitted at a variety of frequencies, as well as on-line instability predictions by detecting bad dampings and divergence early.

Under the terms of the partnership, Areva T&D will have exclusive global rights on using the CPSys to perform a complete system analysis for its customers, in order to identify not just what their network instabilities are but also exactly where they are and what is causing them.

This agreement marks more than ten years of professional collaboration between the two companies.
