SPX Corp. equipment headed for E.ON Benelux project

5 June 2009 — SPX Corp. said it will provide electrostatic precipitators and air preheaters for a new coal-fired power plant in Maasvlakte, the harbor area within the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Maasvlakte power plant is being built by E.ON Benelux. Construction of the 1,100 MW plant will begin in 2010 and the plant is expected to become operational in 2012. At that time, it is projected to generate approximately 7 percent of the total electricity demand in the Netherlands.

In addition to manufacturing Balcke-Durr branded products, SPX’s thermal equipment and services segment also provides wet, dry and hybrid cooling towers.
