Fuel Tech wins emissions control contracts

4 June 2009 — Fuel Tech Inc. received multiple air pollution control contracts worth a total of $2.5 million. These include an equipment order by a Midwestern utility in response to the Clean Air Interstate Rule (CAIR) and orders by two Northeastern utilities.

Included were several orders for HERT High Energy Reagent Technology systems, which use selective non-catalytic reduction for nitrogen oxide control.

The company said that the reinstitution of CAIR in late December 2008 has resulted in a strong pick-up in quotation activity.
