Valvcon actuators

Valvcon ADC series battery-backup powered actuators, from Metso, now offer a new hi/low analog alarm capability that monitors operational conditions for each valve automation package. The analog alarm automatically overrides the actuator’s position feedback signal with a constant, hi/low current—beyond the normal 4-20mA range—to indicate battery charge status, stalled valve condition or safe operational temperature.
ADC Series electric actuators are suited for a variety of quarter-turn valve and damper applications and may be used with PLCs and control systems requiring continuous duty cycling. Available with NEMA 4, 4X, 7, and 9 enclosures, they are designed for on/off, proportional control and digital network control systems.
Options and accessories are designed for easy field installation and include a choice of control packages, an electronic holding brake and adjustable switches. A heater enables operation down to -40 F. Valcon ADC Series actuators deliver up to 3000-in.-lbs. of torque in a 31-lb package.

As a resource to support its line of Hobart and Tri-Mark brands of low alloy filler metals, Hobart Brothers offers its new Low Alloy Product catalog. The catalog features information on the company’s low alloy stick electrodes and flux-cored and metal-cored wires, all of which can provide over 80,000 psi tensile strength and have been designed for welding on high-strength materials, weathering steels, materials prone to high heat or corrosion and other similar applications.
Along with step-by-step explanations of American Welding Society classifications for low alloy filler metals, the new catalog also features a Low Alloy Master List. The list includes standard low alloy product classifications (A through W) and descriptions, along with the name of the corresponding Hobart Brothers filler metals (stick electrode and welding wires) for each classification.
Other information includes individual Hobart Brothers product descriptions, recommended operating parameters, available packaging, competitive comparisons, product conformances and approvals.

Transfer switch

GE Digital Energy announces the new Zenith 1600-3000 Amp Horizontal Bypass/Isolation Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system. The unit has a back-to-back design with a shutter system that uses technology from the American National Standards Institute’s certified power circuit breaker designs.
The horizontal bypass switch enclosure has a dead front with the ATS removed or isolated, helping ensure operator safety while providing access to the bypass power panel with proper personnel protective equipment. The ATS also includes a low voltage control compartment isolated from the switch mechanism.
Its MX350 Control System has built-in power quality metering and alarms, allowing the facility managers to prevent uptime problems. The mechanical features include a single-piece interlock mechanism, designed to provide reliable operation without adjustments.

Flow meter

McCrometer’s new Corrosion-Resistant V-Cone Flow Meter provides flow measurement in liquid, steam or gas media, and can operate where corrosive conditions exist. The design is based on differential pressure technology and uses no moving parts, which may break due to corrosion or clog during use. Built-in flow conditioning allows the meter to achieve measurement accuracy of +0.5 percent, with a repeatability of +0.1 percent. It operates over a flow range of 10:1 and services line sizes from 0.5 to 120 inches.
The V-Cone Flow Meter is available in standard configurations that may be specified with either stainless steel or carbon steel materials. It can also be constructed from a range of other materials to meet specific plant operating and maintenance requirements. Optional materials that are available include: Hastelloy C-276, Duplex 2205, Chromeloy P22/P11, Monel K400/K500, Inconel 625 and more.

Moore Industries introduces its new miniMOORE family of multi-channel analog signal conditioners. The products deliver up to four I/O channels in a 1-inch (25.4 mm) footprint, which equates to 0.25 inch (6.35 mm) per channel. Providing 1000Vrms input-to-output and channel-to-channel signal isolation, the complete miniMOORE family can be used to isolate, convert, boost and split analog signals.
The signal conditioners feature the industrial metal housings that protect against radio frequency (RFI) and electromagnetic (EMI) interference that is common in most power generation environments. The signal conditioners come in 2-channel and 4-channel models.
