Tenaska Solar invests in solar energy development

11 December 2008 — Tenaska Solar, LLC announced an investment in Soltage, LLC to expand the development and use of solar-generated electricity.

The New Jersey-based Soltage, a privately-held renewable energy company, develops, finances, installs, owns and operates solar electricity generating stations that provide electricity to businesses nationwide.

Tenaska Solar, based in Omaha, Neb., is a privately-held company owned by employees of Tenaska Energy, Inc.

Soltage’s photovoltaic solar systems, called Soltage Powerstations, are
installed on the rooftops and property of its customers. The Powerstation
helps meet or exceed the customer’s peak demand for electricity. Any
electricity that exceeds the customer’s needs is sold back to the local
utility, which applies a credit to the customer’s bill.

Tenaska has about 9,000 MW of electric generating capacity across the U.S.
