PSEG to install 130 MW dual-fueled peaker

PSEG Fossil said it finalized a 30-year contract with the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) to add 130 MW of peaking generation at its New Haven, CT station.

The contract calls for Fossil to install three dual-fueled units that will go in service June 1, 2012. The new units will use highly efficient turbines to provide residents in Connecticut’s southwestern region with electricity during periods of peak demand. The project will include installing a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
