Fluor to help Toshiba plan for Texas nukes

16 August 2007 — Fluor Corp. said Toshiba Corp. awarded its power group a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction-related services for two nuclear reactors planned for a South Texas project. Financial details were not disclosed.

NRG Energy Inc. is the 44 percent owner of the South Texas Project Nuclear Generating Station in Bay City, Texas. NRG has contracted with Toshiba to provide reactor components and other early services for the planned reactors.

Fluor will support Toshiba in the first developmental phase of the project by providing project planning, estimating, engineering, procurement and construction-related services.
