16 May 2006 – US-based air pollution technology specialists Fuel-Tech announced Monday multiple orders for air pollution control (APC) projects totalling $2.6m.
The first order, from a Southeastern utility alliance partner, represents the release of equipment for NOxOUT Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) installation on two small coal-fired units. The other orders cover NOxOUT system installations on two municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerators in France.
John F. Norris Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “This announcement reflects good diversity in our APC project mix. The order from our domestic alliance partner represents the ninth and tenth NOxOUT SNCR systems to be installed in this utility’s extensive fleet of coal-fired power plants. In the case of the French industrial orders, we are pleased to sign up two new customers as the European MSW market represents an attractive and growing niche opportunity for our APC technologies.”
Fuel Tech’s nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction technologies include the NOxOUT, NOxOUT CASCADE, NOxOUT ULTRA, Rich Reagent Injection (RRI) and NOxOUT-SCR processes. Fuel Tech has supplied post-combustion NOx control systems on over 375 units worldwide, where coal, municipal waste, biomass, and other fuels are utilized.
