Vogt Power wins Florida plant HRSG order

9 March 2006 – Vogt Power International, a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc announced Wednesday that it has received an award from TIC/UE to supply the Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) for Florida Municipal Power Agency’s (FMPA) Treasure Coast Energy Center located near Fort Pierce, Florida.

Vogt Power will design, engineer and deliver one auxiliary fired, three-pressure level reheat, natural circulation HRSG for a GE Frame 7FA gas turbine. The HRSG will be VPI’s proprietary “SMART” box design, which features a high level of pre-assembly, where modules, casing, interconnecting piping and some structural steel are all supplied in one
box, thereby drastically reducing the number of man-hours needed for erection.

Mike LeClair, President of Vogt Power International, stated that “The market for natural gas combined cycle power plants in the US is extremely competitive and we believe our reputation for technical excellence, product reliability and customer support influenced our selection.”

The Industrial Company / Utility Engineering Joint Venture, TIC/UE, will procure, engineer and construct FMPA’s new 300 MW natural gas-fired power plant in St. Lucie County, Florida. FMPA is a wholesale power company owned by 29 municipal electric utilities.
