Agreement paves way for supply of 100 MW of green electricity

November 24, 2005 – AIM-quoted KP Renewables, set up to sell green electricity to major national grid suppliers, has entered an agreement to develop up to 100 MW of renewable energy projects in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

The projects will be fuelled by municipal, commercial and industrial waste that would otherwise go into landfill. They will be developed under a 50-50 strategic alliance agreed with Reduce, Recover, and Recycle Limited (RE3), an Irish waste handling and recycling group.

Sites for two projects, to generate up to 20 MW, have already been selected, and commercial operations are expected to commence in the middle of next year.
