Mitsubishi plans power project in Indonesia

2 June 2005 – Japan’s Mitsubishi is to invest about $1.6bn to build a power plant in the Cilegon district, Banten province of Indonesia to help allieviate a power shortfall in Java and Bali islands, the Indonesian energy and mineral resources
minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Wednesday.

The minister said he was scheduled to open an annual meeting of the Energy Forum in Tokyo on Friday and would use this opportunity to promote Indonesia among Japanese investors.

He said the forum would be attended by Japanese businessmen engaged in the fields of energy, oil, natural gas and mining.
