Australians buy into German wind

1 April 2005 – Australia’s Global Wind Partners (GWP), 50 per cent owned by Prime Infrastructure Ltd, is to acquire two German wind farm developments for A$39m ($30m).

GWP will buy the Niederrhein wind farm project in Germany. The Niederrhein wind farm portfolio comprises of two wind farm developments at Wachtendonk and BocholtLiedern in Westphalia.

The capacity of the farms will be 19.5 MW with an estimated production rate of 37 000 MW a year.

Construction will start immediately and commercial operation should start in the last quarter of 2005.
