29 March 2005 – Areva Transmission and Distribution has won two separate gas-insulated turnkey contracts in Singapore worth €15.2m ($19.6m), with STMicroelectronics and SP PowerAssets.
In order to boost its electricity grid, STMicroelectronics has contracted Areva to help build a new 66/22 kV 150 MVA substation. The substation will use B65-type 66 kV gas insulated switchgear, 75 MVA power transformers and 22 kV gas insulated switchboards. The scope of the contract will also include civil works, commissioning, testing and training services. The project should be completed in September 2005.
Under the second contract, Areva will supply and build B65-type 66 kV and 38 kV gas insulated switchgear for one of SP Power Assets’ transmission substations located in northern Singapore. Completion is scheduled for March 2006.
