Brascan closes New York Plant acquisition

30 September 2004 – Brascan Corporation on Thursday announced the completion of the purchase of 71 operating hydroelectric power generating plants totalling 674 MW of capacity, and one 105 MW co-generation facility, from Reliant Energy, Inc., for $900m adjusted to $874m to account primarily for cash transferred to Reliant affiliates between signing and closing.

1 October 2004 – The most widely sold wind turbine in the megawatt-class for the global wind power industry has reached a major milestone. GE Energy announced today that its 2500th 1.5 MW machine has been installed as part of ENEL’s Littigheddu project in Sardinia, Italy. Using 36 of the GE 1.5 MW wind turbines, it is ENEL’s largest wind project and one of the largest in Italy.
