GE completes Californian hydro upgrade

GE Energy’s global controls services business began its first project with NCPA Collierville in June 2001 when it upgraded the plant’s controls hardware and operating software. The first phase of the program replaced the existing controls with a triple modular redundant (TMR) system, which integrated the turbine control and programmable logic controller (PLC) needle sequencing functions into a single digital control. This upgrade eliminated reliability issues and decreased mechanical maintenance.

8 June 2004 – Mexican President Vincente Fox named attorney Fernando Elizondo Barragán as Mexico’s new energy minister, effective June 3, to succeed Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, who resigned.
