Toronto’s Congress Centre will be the site of an exciting new PennWell event to be held Sept. 28-30, 2004. Canada Power will deliver a comprehensive look at Canada’s national energy issues – the only show of its kind.
Conference sessions and networking events will foster discussion on the potential impact to Canadian power market deregulation and the need for transmission upgrades resulting from the 2003 U.S./Canadian power blackout.
Supporting organizations for Canada Power are the Canadian Electricity Association and the Ontario Independent Electricity Market Operator. The event is organized by PennWell, which also organizes POWER-GEN International, the largest power event in the world. Canada Power’s presenting publication is Power Engineering, the presenting publication of POWER-GEN International, with Electric Light & Power as the supporting publication and Electricity Today as the Canadian media partner.
Toronto, Ontario is a fitting location for the event’s debut since Ontario is transitioning through the early phases of deregulation. Regional hot topics, such as generation supply, wholesale and retail market issues, and transmission interconnection with the U.S., will serve as a springboard for expanded discussion of Canada’s national energy issues.
Business strategies, deregulation, generation, transmission/distribution, hydropower, renewables, coal and natural gas issues will all be addressed at the event as Canadian and U.S. industry leaders share expertise, insights, and experiences. The exhibition will also showcase the industry’s top products and services.
Attendees will include: electric, gas and hydro utilities, independent power producers, merchant power plants, transmission and distribution companies, project development companies, architect/engineering firms, financial/legal firms, OEMs, power marketers/traders, and energy service providers.
