Steag starts 1210 MW Turkish power plant

24 November 2003 – Steag, the German power producer, has brought on stream its biggest ever power plant – the $1.5bn hard coal-fired plant in Iskenderun, Turkey.

The 1210 MW plant is the largest German investment made in the country and will be capable of producing eight per cent of Turkey’s power demand. Power is being supplied to the public Turkish energy utility TEAS.
