Fortegra expands wholesale energy business unit


LYNCHBURG, Va., Oct. 3, 2003 — Fortegra, Inc., a provider of business and technology consulting services, announced the addition of J. P. Harper as director, and the promotion of Jason Iacobucci to senior architect. Harper and Iacobucci will team to set the strategic direction of Fortegra’s wholesale energy business unit.

As part of the growth of Fortegra’s wholesale energy business unit, the company is refining its existing offerings and providing expanded services, including a market-specific solution for participants in the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) market. In addition, Fortegra has service lines that offer expertise in front- to back-office system applications implementation and integration; business process engineering and strategy; custom system development; and program and project management.

Harper brings to his position a thorough understanding of program and project management methodologies; front-, mid-, and back- office best practices; and a broad knowledge of available tools and software products.

Prior to joining Fortegra, Harper was an executive at The Structure Group, where he managed both technical and business efforts for a variety projects in the wholesale arena, including: LODESTAR implementation projects; trading and risk management assessment projects; Program Management Office operations; power-marketing desk operational projects; QSE qualification and certification efforts in ERCOT; and the design, development and launch of The Structure Group’s nMarket product for the Ontario market.

Formerly, Harper worked for Deloitte and Touche Consulting Group and Electronic Data Systems. Harper holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University.

Iacobucci has lead domestic and international business development efforts for an array of energy companies. He has architecture, design and implementation experience with market operations, settlements, billing, forecasting and transaction management systems for ISOs/RTOs and regulated and deregulated energy market participants.

Iacobucci has served as a keynote speaker regarding the emerging wholesale markets at numerous industry events. Joining Fortegra in 2002, Iacobucci has directed business development within Fortegra’s wholesale energy business unit, leading key initiatives including defining Fortegra’s go-to-market strategy for the Midwest ISO.

Formerly Iacobucci was employed by LodeStar Corporation, Westwood Energy Group, and the US Department of Energy. Iacobucci completed his undergraduate work in economics at the University of New Hampshire and postgraduate work in econometrics at Portland State University.

Iacobucci will continue in his new position to provide strategic direction to the Fortegra wholesale energy business unit, along with Harper.
