Fuel Metering Valve
A new all-electric AVG3.0 Gas Metering Valve for 25 MW and larger industrial gas turbines is now available from Precision Engine Controls. The metering valve provides precise flow control for main and pilot fuel supplies in difficult and dry low-emission applications. The AVG3.0 is ten times faster than hydro-mechanical valves and travels from fully closed to fully open in less than 100 msec. A valve actuator with up to 1,000 lbf ensures that most debris will either be crushed and/or passed through the valve without damaging the valve. The AVG3.0 is ideal for the upgrade of older gas turbines.

A light utility hauler from Polaris Industries “Professional Series UTV 1500 2×4,” has a powerful 18-horsepower V-twin, air-cooled 4-cycle engine, heavy-duty transmission and lower gearing. The UTV 1500 2×4 can carry a payload of up to 1,250 lb and tow up to 1,000 lb. Foot-activated, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes enable quick stopping, even under heavy loads. Independent MacPherson strut suspension with 4.6 inches of travel provides for smooth riding and ease of steering. The standard features include: an audible reverse alarm, an ergonomically designed dash with glove box, a trailer hitch, dual 35-watt quartz-halogen headlights, hour meter, electric start and a 360-watt alternator. The UTV 1500 2×4 is the latest addition to the Polaris Professional Series Workmobile family.
The next generation CSI Model 2130 vibration data analyzer, from Emerson Process Management, is faster and more powerful than previous Emerson models. It features the functionality and ease of use of a large color display, expanded memory, enhanced dual channel capability and a more intuitive user interface. Improved dual channel functionality makes it possible to simultaneously gather any two-vibration signals, thus speeding up data collection. Low noise circuitry enables the analyzer to zero in on low-amplitude signals such as a faulty inner race bearing. By filtering out normal rotational vibrations the analyzer is able to identify bearing faults in their earliest stages.
Emerson Process Management
An LVDT (linear variable differential transformer) Simulator Module is now available from Axiomatic Technologies. The module is used for operator simulation of the LVDT or RVDT (rotary variable differential transformer) feedback signal from valves used for controlling steam and/or gas turbines. Using a 0-10 VDC command signal input and an excitation drive input, the module provides two simulation outputs of 105 VAC. An internal 3 kHz oscillator can be utilized as an alternative excitation source. The unit accepts 4-32 VDC power supply inputs. Factory settings for the offset minimum and span maximum are user adjustable.

Among the units features are hermetically sealed AC and DC operated LVDTs with axial or radial connectors, intrinsically safe 4-20 mA DC-loop powered position transmitters and AC operated LVDTs approved for operation in Class 1, Division 2 and Class Zone 2 hazardous locations. The sensors provide accurate position measurement for a range of steam and combustion turbine applications including valve position measurements, shell expansion, shaft endplay and run-out, variable vane position and servo position feedback.
