Framatome ANP wins €25m I & C contract for Slovakian nuclear plant

20 August 2003 – Framatome ANP has won an order worth €25m ($27.8m)from state-owned Slovenské Elektrárne a.s. to supply digital safety equipment systems at its Bohunice nuclear power plant. The digital safety equipment will be supplied to two units at the plant in the Slovak Republic.

As part of the extensive upgrade of the Russian-designed 440 MW Units 3 & 4 , the existing safety system controls will be replaced in stages by mid-2008 with the digital safety I & C system Teleperm XS.

The contract represents a long-term partnership between Framatome ANP, an AREVA and Siemens company, and Slovenské Elektrárne in the field of nuclear technology. Between 1995 and 2000, Framatome ANP GmbH (at that time Siemens) and VUJE Trnava upgraded the sister units Bohunice 1 & 2 with digital I & C.
