Hyundai Engineering receives order from Kuwait

27 May 2003 – Kuwait’s Water and Electricity Authority has awarded South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering and Construction an order to construct power lines and six substations worth $34m and $37m respectively.

Hyundai will construct 300-kilovolt power lines connecting Sabiya Power Station and Jahra Power Plant in northern Kuwait within 28 months and six transmission substations near Kuwait City within the next two years.

The project will be completed on a turnkey basis. Hyundai said the orders would help the company compete for similar projects in Iraq’s reconstruction programme.
