AUSTIN, Texas, May 22, 2003 — Former Datastream COO Ralph Carter was named president and chief executive officer of privately held Pavilion Technologies.
Carter’s hire is the latest addition to a senior management team that Pavilion’s board of directors has assembled to solidify the company’s position as the world’s leading provider of advanced process control (APC) and environmental compliance solutions.
Effective Monday, May 19, Carter assumes responsibilities from Pavilion Board Member Bill Weyand who has been acting as interim CEO.
“Advanced process control solutions are now recognized by manufacturers as a way to consistently produce higher quality, higher value products for less,” said Carter. “Pavilion is a recognized leader in the field and I’m eager to help drive Pavilion to deliver more value to its customers – the worlds’ leading enterprises.”
As COO at publicly traded Datastream, Carter managed global engineering and sales operations in nearly 140 countries. During a difficult economic climate, Carter successfully led the company through 10 consecutive quarters of positive operational cash flow. Recently recognized by the analyst firm Gartner as a leader in their market, Datastream provides enterprise asset management software for 60 percent of the Fortune 500.
“Ralph brings to our team proven success and a deep knowledge of our industry,” said Pavilion’s Chairman of the Board, Lee Walker. “With a track-record of customer satisfaction and an industry-leading product portfolio, Pavilion is poised for growth under Ralph’s leadership.”
Prior to Datastream, Carter was vice president of sales for Honeywell International’s North American Industrial Automation and Control Division where he was responsible for managing revenues of $450 million. Prior to Honeywell, Carter served in a number of positions for Measurex Corporation.
Carter holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Maine.
