Babcock & Wilcox will deliver two 300 MW radiant-type, natural circulation drum coal-fired boilers to the Heng Shui Hengxing Electric Power Generation Company in the Hebei province in 2004.

Virginia regulators have approved construction of a 520 MW gas-fired plant in Warren County by Maryland-based Competitive Power Ventures Holdings. Construction on the $280 million plant will begin this year.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company has awarded ALSTOM a contract to retrofit units 1 and 2 at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in California with six low-pressure steam turbine cylinders. ALSTOM has also won an order for a 93.7 MW industrial steam turbine for The Industrial Company-Utility Engineering Beatrice site in Nebraska and received a 12-year contract for the operation support and maintenance for the 1,000 MW Monterrey III gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Mexico.

GE Wind Energy will supply 80 1.5 MW wind turbines for the Pine Tree Wind Project, a 120 MW facility in California’s Mojave Desert that will be the first wind project for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Canadian-based Bachmann Dampjoint has been selected as the preferred supplier for the selective catalytic reduction multi port isolation damper systems for SCR projects to be installed on Ontario Power Generation PG Nanticoke and Lambton plants.

Coal ash byproduct marketer ISG Resources has entered into agreements with the Navajo Housing Authority for the construction of the first commercial FlexCrete facility. More than 60 percent of FlexCrete is composed coal fly ash.

GE Hydro has received a contract of more than $47 million from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a five-year, seven-unit refurbishment of the John H. Kerr Powerhouse in Boydton, Virginia. The project will increase plant output by more than 70 MW. The company has also been awarded a contract by Scottish and Southern Energy Generation Ltd of the UK to refurbish three hydroelectric power stations in Scotland.

Burns and Roe was selected by Florida Power & Light to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the 54 MW Jamaica Bay Peaking Facility to be located in Far Rockaway, Queens, N.Y.

A consortium of Duke/Fluor Daniel and Babcock Power will provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for selective catalytic reduction systems for units 1, 3 and 4 of LG&E Energy Corp.’s Ghent Power Generating Plant, a 2,000 MW coal-fired plant in Ghent, Ky.

Hamon Research-Cottrell has been awarded the selective non-catalytic reduction project to be implemented at the Elmer Smith Station unit 2 in Owensboro, Ky.

Siemens Westinghouse Instrumentation & Controls has signed a six-year LTSP contract with Fuerza y Energía de Naco-Nogales (FENN) for its Naco Nogales Combined Cycle Project, located in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.
