Exelon Generation selects web-based solution to optimize production and resource utilization across nuclear facilities

Edmonton, AB, March 7, 2003 — Matrikon Inc. has announced that Exelon Nuclear has selected ProcessNet and EnterpriseNet as enterprise tools for data access, visualization and analysis to improve system performance monitoring.

Matrikon’s Process Net/EnterpriseNet Suite of products enables user companies to achieve industrial agility through web data access and visualization technologies. The Matrikon solution provides exceptional accuracy and speed in data interpretation and promotes collaboration between the manufacturing and corporate levels.

“Manufacturing industries require true thin client solutions,” said Amin Rawji of Matrikon. “The need for employees to access multiple data sources, coupled with the limitations of existing communications infrastructures and the increasing use of handheld wireless technologies such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) in manufacturing industries makes Matrikon’s software an excellent choice.”

Matrikon’s ProcessNet offers connectivity, data visualization and tools that enable users to collaborate via the web with access to virtually any historian and distributed control system (DCS). Therefore ProcessNet is an ideal solution for enterprise applications with multiple legacy systems. Matrikon’s EnterpriseNet enables companies with data sources at multiple locations to substantially improve data access, collaboration and visualization, via simplified navigation. Any user with access to EnterpriseNet through a web browser can now create engineering/business graphics and reports and share these with others anywhere in their enterprise.
