Jerry Yelverton, CEO of Entergy’s nuclear businesses, will retire March 31. Gary Taylor, currently chief operating officer for Entergy Nuclear South, will replace Yelverton.

Barry Dyson has been appointed vice president and general manager of Invensys’ global utilities industry business unit where he will direct efforts to help utility industry customers improve business performance and maximize return on automation investment.

Richard Atkinson has been named CFO of Sierra Pacific Resources Corp., replacing Dennis Schiffel who is leaving the company. Atkinson had been vice president, treasurer and investor relations officer of Sierra Pacific.

David Baillie has been appointed chief executive of Wood Group Gas Turbine Services. He had been president of Schlumberger Sema UK.

Bob Edwards, CEO of Minnesota Power and an executive vice president of parent Allete Inc., has announced he will retire at the end of May.

Personnel and Promotions has been named president and COO.fo Burns & McDonnell. He will succeed chairman and CEO. Dave Ruf upon Ruf’s retirement on Dec. 31, 2003.

Bobby Abrams has been named senior vice president, Framatome ANP Inc. He was formerly president of Framatome ANP DE&S.

Pittsburgh-based engineering and contracting firm Ragnar Benson, Inc. has named David A. Berthelsen senior vice president and general manager. Paul J. Debski has been appointed vice president and assistant general manager.

Ruth Shaw has been named to replace Bill Coley as president of Duke Power upon Coley’s retirement. As newly named senior vice president of Duke Corp.’s energy marketing arm, C. Gregory Harper assumes leadership of Houston-based Duke Energy North America.

Ellen Petrill has been named program director of the Distributed Energy Resources Public/Private Partnership at the Electricity Innovation Institute (E2I) affiliate of the Electric Power Research Institute, responsible for managing research and development programs designed to reduce barriers to deployment of distributed energy resources.
