Magaldi wins second Chinese Fluimac order

20 January 2003 – Chinese IPP Jiangsu Provincial Electric Power Company has awarded Italy’s Magaldi Power a contract for the supply of two Fluimac systems for its Jia Wang power plant, following a similar order last year. Fluimac is used for dry bed ash extraction from fluidized bed combustion boilers.

Jia Wang power plant will consist of two coal-fired CFB boilers rated at 135 MW that will be supplied by Harbin Boiler. The plant is located near Nanjing in the centre-east of China. Each boiler will produce up to 16t/h of bed ash during normal operation, and two Fluimac extractors will be used for the removal of the ash from each boiler. The cooled ash discharged from the extractors is conveyed mechanically by Magaldi Postcoolers and bucket elevators to a storage silo.

Fluimac features significant heat recovery from the ash to the boiler by the cooling air that, after leaving the Fluimac system, will join to the boilers combustion air.

The equipment is due to be supplied and installed in time for commissioning and start-up in October 2003.
