Siemens delivers 400th gas turbine

9 January 2003 – The Siemens Power Generation (PG) manufacturing plant in Berlin completed and delivered its 400th gas turbine at the beginning of December, 2002. The machine, a model V94.3A, is being supplied to the Italian power plant Termini Imerese, where the existing coal-fired plant is currently being converted to an environmentally friendly and efficient combined-cycle (GUD) plant.

The gas turbine will supply the grid of the customer utility Enel Produzione with around 260 MW under the prevalent climatic conditions. The picture here shows the 400th machine that has been constructed at the plant since gas turbine production was begun in the fall of 1971.
