Gexa Energy surpasses 20,000 customers

Oct. 18, 2002–Gexa Energy Corp. (OTCBB:GEXC), one of the fastest growing retail electric providers in Texas, reported today that it had surpassed 20,000 customers in its first nine months of operations. Gexa Energy has exceeded its internal projections and continues to grow at approximately 800 new accounts per week

According to Marcie Zlotnik, president, “Our business excelled during the first nine months of operations. Sales have been quite strong, resulting in substantial profits and margins, as reported in our second quarter filings. Currently, positive trends continue and we are optimistic of positive third quarter results and future prospects.

“To further enhance operating margins, Gexa has applied and has been approved by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas to act as its own qualified scheduling entity (QSE). By scheduling our own electricity load, Gexa can better coordinate our supply with our customer usage. The savings associated by scheduling our own electricity versus using a third party are in the tens of thousands of dollars per month.”
