Dominion scraps plans for Tennessee Power project

RICHMOND, Va., March 6, 2002 — Dominion said that it was not awarded the winning bid by the Tennessee Valley Authority to develop a 600-megawatt natural gas-fired electric generation facility in Montgomery County, Tenn., and is discontinuing plans for the project.

Dominion submitted its bid to develop the facility in May 2001 in response to a TVA request for proposal.

Dominion, headquartered in Richmond, Va., is one of the nation’s largest producers of energy.
