Power Maintenance Resources Inc. completes electric switchyard in Kentucky

HILLSBORO, OR, Jan. 10, 2002 — Power Maintenance Resources, Inc (PMRI) has completed a major electric switchyard project in northwest Kentucky.
Through a teaming approach with the Illinois Power Company (IP), PMRI furnished the Bluegrass Generating Plant switchyard under a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract.
The switchyard feeds the combined output of 500 MW from three combustion turbines into the local transmission system at 345,000 volts. The PMRI scope of work included all project and construction management, craft labor, engineering and procurement of all equipment and materials necessary to complete project.

“Our approach to these switchyard projects is simple, understand the needs of the client, assemble a high quality team of engineers and contractors, and design and build a facility that cost effectively meets those needs,” said Jake Hardy, President and CEO of PMRI. “This recipe for success is at the core of our business plan, and is being employed on all PMRI projects.”

“The PMRI and IP switchyard engineering/construction team performed superbly on the Bluegrass Generation Project,” said Jim Tharp, Project Manager of the Bluegrass Project.” “Their team met schedule and finished under budget, while dealing with changing utility requirements and site work conditions.” “The PMRI/IP team was second to none in quality, safety and professionalism.”
