HOUSTON, Texas, Sept. 24, 2001 Duke Energy North America (DENA) and Duke/Fluor Daniel are constructing two power plants in Mississippi totaling 1,280 MW.
Each plant will produce 640 MW of peaking capacity and the first will be located in the town of Enterprise, Clarke County and the second in Southaven, De Soto County.
Construction for the two plants started this spring and both are expected to be complete by June 2002. The plants will both utilize eight General Electric Frame 7EA combustion turbine/generator sets each capable of producing 80MW.
