Tampa Electric buys two gas power plants for $330 million

TAMPA, Fla. November 10, 2000 (Tulsa World)—Tampa Electric Co. is buying two natural gas powered electric plants in Mississippi and Arkansas from GenPower for $330 million.

TECO will use the plants to sell electricity to wholesale customers.

The plants, located in Dell, Ark., and Attalla County, Miss., are still under construction and are expected to be completed in the spring of 2002. TECO will continue operating the plants after they are completed.
