Dynegy Inc. has announced plans to develop a 500 MW natural gas-fired peaking merchant plant in Osceola county, Fla. Power generated at Palmetto Power Project will be sold into the wholesale market when commercial operation begins in summer 2002.

Framatome Technologies has completed the first U.S. application of its Electrosleeve process to steam generator tubing at AmerenUE’s Callaway Nuclear Plant. The technology was originally developed by Ontario Power Technologies.

GE MicroGen Inc. has signed NJR Energy Holdings Corp. and Flint Energies as the first two distributors of its line of residential- and commercial-sized fuel cell systems, to be available in 2001.

Flowtronex International Inc. and Pratt & Whitney Canada Inc. have reached an agreement to package and market modular pumping, gas compression and power generation systems.

Allegheny Energy Supply Company LLC announced plans for a 450 MW, combined-cycle expansion project at its Springdale, Pa. Facility.

DPL Inc. has announced Phase Three of its peaking generation expansion plan that will include purchase of two 80 MW General Electric combustion turbine peaking units. Construction is to begin this fall.
