Dominion Resources Inc. and Consolidated Natural Gas Co. have revealed the sites and sizes of the four electric power generation facilities they have joined forces to build in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The facilities are part of an exclusive alliance between the two companies to build and operate natural gas-fired power businesses at viable sites near CNG natural gas pipeline system.
The four currently proposed projects are:
- Wood County, Ohio, 600 MW;
- Armstrong County, Pa., 300 to 600 MW;
- Muskingum County, Ohio, 600 MW; and
- Pleasants County, W.Va., 300 to 600 MW.
The two firms will construct, operate and maintain the facilities on a 50-50 basis. Dominion Resources and CNG signed a definitive merger agreement in February. They are seeking additional sites for more plants along the gas pipeline network in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia and West Virginia.
