Riley Power Inc., a unit of Babcock Power, has signed a contract with Gemma Power Systems LLC for the design and supply of Riley Power’s advanced stoker boiler with integrated air quality control system for the 49.9 MW biomass-fired Woodville Renewable Power Project in Texas.

The Babcock & Wilcox Co. said its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co. Inc. (BWCC) has been awarded a contract worth more than $75 million to provide construction services for the installation of environmental equipment at Northern Indiana Public Service Co.'s (NIPSCO) coal-fired R.M. Schahfer Generating Station.

FirstEnergy Corp. said its generation subsidiaries will retire six older coal-fired power plants, totaling 2,689 MW, by September 1, 2012. The plants are in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
