Orion Fans has developed the VA Series fans, featuring a dual ball bearing system with a brushless DC, auto restart, polarity-protected motor. The fans can be IP55-protected.
The OD1238 VA Series (120x38mm) feature airflows ranging from 140 to 283 CFM with a maximum static pressure as high as 1.85” H2O for the 48V version. The OD1238 vane-axial fans are available in 12, 24 and 48VDC. Life expectancy is 65,000 hours.
The OD9238 VA Series (92x38mm) features 135 CFM airflow with a maximum static pressure of 0.74” H2O. Life expectancy is in excess of 50,000 hours.
The OD8038 VA Series (80x38mm) has 112 CFM airflow with maximum static pressure is 1.1” H2O. The series is offered in 12, 24 and 48V configurations. Life expectancy is in excess of 50,000 hours.
The OD6038 VA Series (60x38mm) provide an industry-leading 61 CFM performance with a maximum static pressure of 1.59” H2O for the high-speed model and are available in 12, 24 and 48V configurations. Life expectancy is in excess of 50,000 hours.
Pricing for the VA Series fans in OEM quantities of 1-99 is $24.00 for the 120mm model and $16.00 for the 60, 80, and 92mm models. Prototypes are available.

Temparature transmitter
Dwyer Instruments Inc. announces the release of its new series HHT humidity/temperature transmitter.
The Series HHT Hazardous Area Humidity Transmitter is designed to take accurate measurements in the harshest of environments. The transmitter is offered in explosion-proof and intrinsically-safe versions depending on the application requirements. The explosion-proof model is offered with 4 to 20 mA outputs for both temperature and humidity. Both versions have an optional two line alphanumeric LCD display to show the current humidity and temperature.

Ball valve
The Swagelok FKB series medium-pressure ball valve is made to provide a leak-tight seal for applications up to 15,000 psig (1034 bar).
Swagelok medium-pressure ball valves are designed to deliver reliable and repeatable operation to meet the performance requirements of common offshore applications such as topside wellhead control panels, chemical injection panels and control systems.
The valve features low-torque actuation and is available with ISO-5211 compliant actuators. A positionable handle is made to provide flexibility in panel layout by reducing clearance issues with other components.
The valves are rated for temperatures from 0° to 250°F (-17° to 121°C) and multiple O-ring materials are available, including nitrile, fluoroelastomer, and perfluoroelastomer. All wetted materials are made to be compatible with most hydrocarbons.

ST98 Mass Flow Meter
The FlexMASSter ST98 Flow Meter Series from Fluid Components International, with its thermal dispersion mass flow sensor and digital electronics, is designed to be compatible with the HART communication protocol for use in large-scale process and plant automation systems.

FCI’s ST98 Flow Meter is made to provide measurement, quick data transmission and interoperability for process and plant engineers. It is also designed to be a drop-in network replacement instrument for any other HART-compatible flow meter, made to quickly provide process flow rate and totalized flow data. An optional LCD display screen indicating flow rate, temperature and totalized flow is available.
The flow meter is made to provide rigorous flow measurement over a wide flow range. It features high accuracy to ±1 percent of reading, plus ±0.5 percent of full scale. The ST98 offers repeatability to ±0.5 percent of reading. The ST98 offers low-flow sensitivity yet is able to operate from 10:1 to 100:1 turndown ratio and is field adjustable within the calibrated range.

Flow meters
Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. announces it’s patented Totalizing Series shedding flow meters for measuring, monitoring and controlling flows of cooling water in power generation applications.

The flow meters are designed for actions including bearing oil, condensate motor and gas compressor cooling; cooling boiler feed pumps, and water for heat exchangers and scrubbers.
The meters are available in 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 1 1/2 inch and 2 inch pipe sizes for flows ranging from 25 to 200 GPM (95 to 750 LPM). The totalizer features a six-digit LED, pulse output and push-button selection for gallons per minute (GPM) or liters per minute (LPM).
The meters are made for flow accuracy of plus or minus 1.5 percent of indicated total. Maximum operating pressure is 300 PSI (20 Bar), and turndown is 10:1. They also feature bodies made of brass or stainless steel with PVDF sensors and patented seals.
The stainless steel models are designed for low-viscosity corrosive fluids and water with chemicals added. Models without a totalizer are available in pipe sizes from 1/4 inch to 4 inches for flow ranges from 4 GPM to 600 GPM (15 LPM to 2271 LPM).

Motor and drive system
Baldor’s cooling tower motor and drive system is designed to reduce energy consumption and maintenance while running more quietly.

The VS1 cooling tower drive is designed to work with the tower motor to provide easy cooling tower start-ups. It was made to use sensorless algorithms for low-speed operation. It is also designed to work seamlessly with most building automation systems and with retrofit and new tower designs.

The SEL-3620 Ethernet Security Gateway is made to protect site-to-site Ethernet communications as well as private networks by keeping out hackers and eavesdroppers and using encryption technology.
