Flowmeters
Universal Flow Monitors Inc. announced its L Series viscosity-insensitive flowmeters for circulating lubrication systems in steam, gas and hydro turbine applications.

The piston-style flowmeters maintain +/- 5 percent accuracy for turbine oils with a viscosity range between 40 and 200 centipoise. Although operating in the 40 to 200 CP viscosity range is standard, a meter can be optimized for specific viscosities within that range.
The L Series meters monitor lube oil flow rates from 2 to 20 gallons a minute (7.6 to 75.7 liters a minute). The meters are designed to monitor rate of oil flow, provide flow rate indication to assist in problem diagnosis and respond if flow goes too low.
L Series meters from Universal Flow Monitors are mechanical units that require no power. They include a field-adjustable, high-amperage Micro Switch that can be wired to trigger equipment shutdown for protection against bearing damage.
The L Series flowmeters are Type 4 weatherproof units with wetted parts of aluminum, brass, stainless steel and Viton fluorocarbon elastomer. The meters accommodate maximum ambient temperatures of 150 F (65 C), maximum fluid temperatures of 200 F (93 C) and maximum pressure to 500 PSI (35 Bar).
L Series flowmeters mount in any orientation, with no straight pipe runs. The meters have CSA and CE ratings. NIST traceable calibration is available.

Rentable cargo pant

The new Cintas design offers a longer “seat seam” and uses fabric with 11 percent stretch. The Cintas Cargo Collection offers sewn-in pockets with side seams and snap closures.

Fuel gas cleaning system

Gaumer Co. introduced the ElectroClean fuel gas cleaning system. The system is designed to provide gas-turbine-quality-fuel gas from pipeline-quality-fuel gas. ElectroClean consists of an electric pre-heater, pressure reduction, coalescence, heat exchange and an electric super heater in one ASME pressure vessel.

PCB connectors
Amphenol Industrial offers three compact, high-amperage connectors for use in high-current, single-point connections to printed circuit boards (PCBs). The new PowerBlok, RADSERT and PGY connectors incorporate RADSOK technology.
Housed in a package of 12.7 mm x 12.7 mm (0.500” x 0.500”), PowerBlok can provide up to 70 amps to a board. The component’s backplane power interface uses compliant pins, which are press-fit into the board enabling a solid connection and an even signal flow. PowerBlok features a radial design in order to create many points of contact as well as a touch-proof cover.
RADSERT connectors are available in either a 2.4 mm (0.094”) size carrying up to 35 amps or in a 3.6 mm (0.141”) size carrying up to 70 amps. In addition, RADSERT enables designers to bring power to the board from busbars suspended above the board and its components. A standard RADSERT is designed for a board thickness of 6.35 mm +/-0.0635 mm (0.250” +/-0.025”) with custom sizes available for specific applications.
The PGY, an orthogonal card edge connector, is available in two sizes: 3.6 mm (0.141”) carrying up to 70 amps and 5.7 mm (0.224”) carrying up to 120 amps.
The RADSOK PCB connector series is RoHS-compliant and can be applied manually (press-fit) or by a reflow solder process that eliminates the need for additional wires and special crimping tools.

Excavator system
Leica Geosystems introduced the Leica PowerDigger 3D excavator system. This excavator guidance system includes a choice of single or dual GNSS (GPS + GLONASS) PowerBox and PowerAntenna sensors, each designed to locate the 3D position of the excavator bucket relative to the design surface.

In real time, the Leica PowerDigger 3D is engineered to receive the machine position via GNSS, calculate the excavator bucket’s exact 3D position on the site and compare the bucket’s position with the 3D design model, displaying differences (cut/fill/slope) to the operator on a display screen.
The Leica PowerDigger 3D displays the machine’s position relative to the 3D design surface. It may operate in single and dual GPS/GNSS configuration.
Leica PowerDigger 3D is intended to support all common 3D design model formats. Design files can be sent to the excavator via a GSM or local wireless LAN with Internet access.

Transparent covers
Fibox Enclosures expanded its ARCA enclosure product line with the addition of transparent screw covers and hinged covers. Transparent covers are available for five standard enclosure sizes ranging from 6.00” x 6.00” x 4.00” D up to 14.00” x 12.00” x 7.00” D.

ARCA enclosures, manufactured using injection-molded polycarbonate, offer chemical resistance and a wide temperature range. They are designed to protect electrical and electronic equipment in industrial applications.
ARCA enclosure sizes 12.00” x 10.00” and smaller offer UL Listed and NEMA ratings Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. Types 4 and 4X refer to hose-down ratings. Type 6 and 6P are 6 feet (1.8m) submersion ratings for one and 24 hours, respectively. Type 12 and 13 ratings add protection from oil and non-corrosive coolants. Larger ARCA sizes feature UL Listed and NEMA ratings Type 4, 4X, 12 and 13.
All ARCA covers feature an overlapping design made to protect the formed-in-place polyurethane (PUR) gasket. Mounting plates plus fixed and hinged inner panels are available in either metal or non-metallic versions. Enclosure latches can be metal or non-metallic and are available with or without a padlock option.

Thermal mass flow meter
Fluid Components International (FCI) released its ST50 remote mount flow meter. Featuring a flow sensor design with no moving parts, the ST50 remote mount flow meter measures airflow from one to 125 SFPS (0.3 to 38 NMPS), nitrogen from one to 150 SFPS (0.3 to 46 NMPS) and compressed air from 4 to 400 SFPS (1.2 to 122 NMPS). Company-reported accuracy is +1 percent of reading, +0.5 percent of full scale, with repeatability of +0.5 percent of reading. It operates at temperatures from 40 to 100 F (4 to 38 C).
The ST50’s Remote Mount transmitter, which includes a full digital display, can be mounted up to 50 feet (15 meters) away from its thermal mass flow sensor in the process piping and connected via two 0.50” FNPT cables.
The ST50 transmitter may be specified with either an 18-36 Vdc or an 85-265 Vac input power supply and is housed in an all-aluminum, epoxy-coated enclosure that is NEMA 4X (IP66) rated. It features a digital display with an LCD screen that is user scalable to flow rate units or as 0-100 percent. Approvals include FM, CSA and CE Mark.
The ST50 is also available with built-in wireless IR communication technology via a Palm OS PDA.
