Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. released the TEOM Series 1405 for ambient particulate monitoring, featuring modernized electronics and a touch-screen user interface, packaged into a single cabinet. The TEOM Series 1405 addresses the need to provide accurate PM-2.5, PM-10 and PM-Coarse measurements as defined in new U.S. EPA standards and methods. Moreover, the product line, which replaces the TEOM 1400ab monitor, enables users to achieve multiple PM measurements.
The new Thermo Scientific TEOM 1405 series delivers a self-referencing, NIST-traceable, true mass measurement by means of Thermo Scientific’s TEOM (tapered element oscillating microbalance) technology.
The TEOM Series 1405 comes in four models providing one to three PM measurements: PM-10, PM-2.5 (Fine) and PM-Coarse (PM-10-2.5). In addition to PM measurement capabilities, users can choose to add an FDMS option to account for the volatile and semi-volatile fraction.

Angular contact ball bearings

SKF single-row angular contact ball bearings feature high radial and axial load capacity, high speed capabilities, and steep contact angle of 40 degrees to meet demanding performance requirements in centrifugal pumps. These bearings are engineered for universal mounting in multiple arrangements, including face-to-face, back-to-back and tandem.
Raceways in the inner and outer rings can accommodate combined (simultaneously acting) radial and axial loads and provide high thrust load capability, low friction losses and reduced edge stresses for increased power density, load rating and safety. Optional robust brass cage geometry promotes higher speed ratings and acceleration, lower heat generation and reduced vibration and noise.
Their ISO P6 (ABEC3) precision level allows for control of the bearing’s mounted clearance and vibration. A heat-treating process stabilizes rings for minimal dimensional changes up to 125 degrees Celsius.
These bearings are available in a wide range of bore sizes and with cage and clearance/preload combinations. Many are available as standard in SKF Explorer performance class. Special application designs include four-point and thrust pack. Custom solutions can be developed to satisfy particular application requirements.

Ethernet I/O chassis
United Electronic Industries (UEI) released the DNR-12-1G (“RACKtangle”) Ethernet I/O chassis. Based upon the electronics in the company’s “Cube” I/O chassis, the new rectangular form factor increases the number of I/O slots from six to twelve in a 3U chassis.
As the RACKtangle is electrically compatible with the “Cube” form factors, all of the I/O boards available in the cube form factor are also available for the RACKtangle. Over 30 I/O modules are available. The RACKtangle’s 12 I/O slots provide up to 300 analog inputs, 384 analog outputs, 576 digital I/O, 96 counter or quadrature channels, 144 ARINC-429 channels and/or 48 Serial or CAN-bus ports.
Software for the RACKtangle is provided in the UEIDAQ Framework. The Framework provides an API that supports operating systems including Windows, Vista, Linux and most real-time operating systems (e.g. QNX, RTX, RT Linux). The board is fully supported by LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, DASYLab or any application supporting ActiveX, OPC or Modbus TCP control.

Boiler drum level monitoring
Clark-Reliance has introduced the LevelMax system. For use in Boiler Drum Level instrumentation, this combination drum level instrument assembly enables local and remote monitoring of the user’s boiler drum level.
LevelMax utilizes the Electro Eye-Hye System (remote drum level indicator) with a water gage glass attached for local (direct) viewing of the drum level. The Electro Eye-Hye System, the hub of the assembly, is available with the following design pressures: 450, 1000, 1800, & 3000 PSIG.
The system eliminates a portion of the field piping welding that is associated with the traditionally independent unit.

Magnetic activated ground

Western Enterprises has announced a new ground for welding. The new magnetic activated ground has a built-in on/off switch, which activates a powerful magnet, providing a ground close to the weld. It is smaller, lighter and more versatile than alligator clamps or traditional style magnetic clamps.
The magnetic activated ground can handle up to 450 amps continuously (100 percent duty cycle) on a clean flat surface. Up to 600 amps can be handled at a 20 percent duty cycle on a clean, flat surface, accommodating most welding processes.
The ground has an ergonomic curved body, which permits one-handed operation. Additionally, two built-in scrapers can be used to help clean away rust and debris for solid contact.
The Magnetic Activated Ground allows 360-degree ground cable rotation when in the locked position. It does not require adaptors of any kind. A built-in pipe boot allows for both inside diameter or outside diameter pipe applications.

Orbital welding power supply

Swagelok Co. released the Swagelok welding system M200 power supply that offers a 200 amp capability at a weight of less than 50 lbs. (23 kg). A high-resolution, 12.1 in. (307 mm) color industrial touch screen gives users a pathway to enter weld programs. Users can choose from one of three forms to enter weld programs, including automatic weld schedule programming. The M200’s automatic shield gas control (patent pending), simplifies set-up of shielding gas, requiring no use of a separate flow meter.
Multi-language capability is built in to the M200, requiring no separate programming or special ordering. Built-in languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified and traditional). Universal voltage input (100 to 230 V) requires only a cord/plug change to accommodate an input voltage.
The M200 works with all currently available Swagelok weld heads. It includes four USB ports, Ethernet port, USB device (output) port, VGA output, and serial port. All gas and electrical connections, plus the integral, high-speed thermal printer are easily accessed from the unit’s side panels.
