Babcock Power subsidiary Thermal Engineering International (TEi) will supply the condenser tube bundles for Bruce Power’s nuclear plant on Lake Huron northwest of Toronto. TEi will design and fabricate two replacement tube bundles for Bruce Unit 1.

Peabody Energy has entered into a 10-year agreement with Tennessee Valley Authority to supply 6 million tons of Illinois Basin coal a year from a combination of existing and future Illinois Basin mines. Coal sales under the first five years of the agreement are expected to be in excess of $1 billion.

Sargent & Lundy has been selected to perform a feasibility study for a proposed new power plant to be built in Escanaba, Mich., by the city and Wisconsin Public Power. S&L will evaluate multiple size and technology options including 60 MW, 150 MW and 300 MW scenarios.

Alstom has been contracted to refurbish four 27 MW units at Grand River Dam Authority’s Markham Ferry hydroelectric plant in Oklahoma. The project will include increasing safe fish passage by fitting runner hubs with self-lubricated bearings that will replace oil-lubricated mechanisms.

Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES) has purchased 26 wind turbines rated at 2.3 MW each from Siemens Power Generation for use at the RES Whirlwind Energy Center in Floyd County, Texas.

AREVA will supply 61 rod cluster control assemblies to Unit 3 at Dominion Generation’s Millstone nuclear plant in Waterford, Conn.

Hitachi Power Systems will design, supply and build SCR systems for the two 650 MW units at Seminole Generating Station owned by Seminole Electric Cooperative.
