A nuclear power plant contractor worker was found dead at the Cooper Nuclear Station, but foul play is not suspected in the death.
Plant owner Nebraska Public Power District said in a release that the contractor was found deceased in the reactor building the morning of Feb. 4. Medical personnel on site tried to revive him. There is no official cause of death, but he is believed to have passed from natural causes.
NPPD reported the incident to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and OSHA and called in local law enforcement for further investigation. No name has been released pending notification of the next of kin.
