VIDEO: Update on Vogtle nuclear construction

Plant Vogtle Georgia Power Southern Company Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear units

Southern Co. (NYSE: SO) has released a fresh look into the construction progress at Plant Vogtle in Georgia. The video includes updates on the all-important basemat, and erecting of the cooling towers and office buildings.

The $14 billion project includes two Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear reactors. They are expected to begin commercial operations in 2016 and 2017.
