The 300 MW natural gas-fired Lodi Energy Center in Lodi, Calif. started operations on Nov. 27, according to The McClatchy-Tribune Regional News. The $500 million project in Silicon Valley took two years to build and was completed two months behind schedule. The plant is owned by Lodi Electric Utility.
Lodi will receive a portion of the power it produces as part of the Northern California Power Agency, which encompasses 13 agencies.
