GE FlexEfficiency Truck rolls into POWER-GEN International

12/11/2012

GE brings their truck tour to POWER-GEN International to display for the entire show. The truck tour is for the launch of the company’s FlexEfficiency 60 gas portfolio and reference plant, which includes the FlexEfficiency 60 combined-cycle power plant, the 7F 7-Series gas turbine, the 7F 5-Series gas turbine, the D-17 steam turbine, the H26 Generator, a heat recovery steam generator and the Mark Vie Integrated Control System. The portfolio is built for the 60 Hz countries such as the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Japan, Korea and Brazil.

The truck has toured through 26 cities over four months. It has visited utilities; engineering, procurement and construction companies, financiers and universities.

“Those have been the really interesting stops,” said Catie Shaw, public relations specialist for Thermal Products with GE Power & Water. “When the students see in real life what they have been learning about in class really brings it all home.”

The truck features scaled models of the 7F 7-Series turbine, the D17 steam turbine and a reference plant so visitors can see where each part would be sited at a power plant. There is also a video chat screen to connect with someone with GE who can answer any questions and a FlexEfficiency calculator that takes the customer’s specs and tells them which GE product would be the best fit for them.

Be sure to check out the truck in the rear of the exhibit hall.
