Tennessee Valley Authority officials are preparing for the final phase of review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission at the 3,300 MW Browns Ferry nuclear power plant, after a malfunctioning valve at Unit 1 earned the nuclear plant a “red" finding, the harshest grade the NRC gives in its oversight process, AL.com reports.
TVA officials expect to be ready by January to formally request the final phase of the inspection, which would occur later in the spring.
