The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) released a report on the available renewable energy resources available by state.
The report, called “Renewable Energy in the 50 States,” uses 2011 data to give a snapshot of what sources each state is using. The report is a so-called “living” document that will continuously evolve with updates and periodic revisions as the data changes. The report includes information on installed and planned capacity, markets, economic development, resource potential and policies available in each state.
According to the report, total installed capacity of energy from renewables was more than 145 GW. State initiatives played a significant role in supporting the development of renewables.
