The 50 MW Enbridge Silver State North solar photovoltaic (PV) project began operations May 7 in Nevada. The project is one of the first large-scale solar projects on U.S. public lands after the U.S. Department of the Interior approved it.
Located 40 miles south of Las Vegas, Silver State North was developed by First Solar (NASDAQ: FSLR) and will be owned by Enbridge. NV Energy (NYSE: NVE) signed a power purchase agreement for the output from the project.
The project was built on 618 acres of public land managed by Interior’s Bureau of Land Management.
