Alberto Ruocco has been named vice president and chief information officer for American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP). He will replace Pablo Vargas, who was recently named president and chief operating officer of AEP Ohio in March.
Ruocco is the current CIO of BlueStar Energy Solutions, a retail subsidiary recently acquired by AEP.
Ruocco joined BlueStar Energy Solutions in 2011 and led the information technology team. Prior to BlueStar, Ruocco was an executive vice president for The Revere Group, the Chicago-based business and information technology subsidiary of NTT DATA.
Ruocco holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
