Southern Co. (NYSE: SO) said workers brought Unit 1 of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant in Alabama back online. The plant had been shut down for a scheduled 25-day refueling and maintenance outage.
During the outage, regular refueling, maintenance and testing took place, and workers performed upgrades to the plant systems and components. Each unit at Plant Farley requires refueling every 18 months.
Unit 2 continued to operate while Unit 1 was shut down.
